Picnic with an Object Lesson

This last week our Bible Stories centered on forgiveness.  I am doing a study with goodmorninggirls.org called "Anything" by Jennie Allen.  They created a children's curriculum to go with it.  The memory verse was Mark 2:17 and Sara, Carly, and Emma have it down well!

One of the object lessons was to write sins we have committed on rocks and take them to a lake or pond to throw them in the water.  It was a beautiful thing seeing Adam with Emma writing down sins she had done before and his own as well.  Emma has often brought up Daddy making a bad choice to live in different houses.  So that day Adam wrote down "Living in a different house" on his rock.  We sat and talked about how when God forgives us, because of Jesus Christ, our sin is gone.  Bringing it up again would be like trying to go out to the lake and finding that exact rock that had our sin written on it.  It was such a great experience for all of us!

We were also able to incorporate a picnic into our evening to add to our Bucket List.  The kids fed ducks, played on the playground and enjoyed time in the evening sun.  I am so thankful for our time together!
